New THQ president Jason Rubin has taken his first action with one of the ailing companies major franchises and has decided to roll the Saints Row the Third – Enter the Dominatrix expansion pack into a full fourth game slated for release towards the end of 2013. The expansion had been due to come out as a stand-alone add-on to the massively successful third game in the notoriously insane series.
Rubin told Edge that “when I looked at the Enter The Dominatrix expansion in production at Volition, I was blown away by the ideas and desire to expand the fiction of the franchise. I asked the team what it could achieve given more time, more resources, and a broader scope for the project. We all agreed that we wanted to play that game.” He added that “when it comes to Saints Row, it’s clear our fans want bigger, better and even more over the top, and that’s why Enter The Dominatrix will now be incorporated into a vastly expanded, fully fledged sequel, scheduled for calendar 2013.”
Despite the full game meeting with approval from both fans and critics, the DLC for the game has made far less of a positive impression. Hopefully this move will result in a fourth Saints Row game that is full of a high quantity of high quality content.
